What We Do
Transforming Lives Through Compassion and Support
At Family Promise of Southeast Florida, our mission goes beyond providing shelter and meals. We are committed to addressing the core needs of the most vulnerable in our community, from basic necessities to mental health services. None of this would be possible without the generous support of our donors and grantors. Learn more about our supporters and join us in making a difference.
The Road to Independence
Our signature 90-day Road to Independence program is a transformative journey for families in Palm Beach and Broward Counties experiencing situational homelessness. Through this program, we provide temporary shelter, meals, counseling, referrals, and essential necessities. Our Program Advocates also provide comprehensive case management services, including financial literacy workshops and life skills education, to pave the way for stability. We utilize phases developed in 2016 by Jennifer Raymond, our Executive Director, to ensure that families are steadily progressing towards their goals and financial self-sufficiency.
We recently introduced the Step Up to Success Program, which subsidizes job training and continuing education as well as fees for professional licenses and certifications. This program has been made possible by the generosity of a grant from Impact 100 Palm Beach County. Impact 100 Palm Beach County, a volunteer-led women’s organization, empowers and enables local women to serve as philanthropic leaders by collectively funding significant grants that will make a lasting impact in southern Palm Beach County.
Handling Families with CARE
Our response to situational family homelessness is centered around CARE – Counseling, Assessment, Referrals, and Evaluation. This holistic approach, created and implemented in 2014 by Jennifer Raymond, our Executive Director, prioritizes trauma-informed treatment. Families in crisis participate in weekly mental health counseling, assessments, and bi-weekly evaluations to ensure progress and holistic care.
Graduate Support Services
Ensuring that families maintain stability post-program is crucial. Our Graduate Support Services offer a range of counseling and initiatives for families who have successfully completed our programs. We stay in contact with our families and check in every three months for two years post-graduation to ensure that they are maintaining self-sufficiency and receive the necessary support. We also offer family parties and events to all graduates to provide an ongoing sense of community.
Reaching Out
Our outreach extends beyond our programs. In collaboration with community partners, we provide outreach services at various locations in Palm Beach and Broward County. Our Program Advocates offer the community referrals and assistance with resources such as food stamps, unemployment, and mental health assessments.
