Road to Independence (RTI) Program
Empowering Families Toward Sustainable Independence
Family Promise of Southeast Florida’s signature 90-day Road to Independence program transforms the lives of families in Palm Beach and Broward Counties who are experiencing situational homelessness by providing:
- Shelter on a temporary basis for low-income, food-insecure families with children who are experiencing situational homelessness or are at risk of losing their home.
- Support in the form of counseling, food/meals, referrals and basic necessities like clothing, toiletries and housewares.
- Stability through comprehensive case management services, including financial literacy workshops and life skills education.
To help underemployed adults enrolled in the Road to Independence Program seek gainful employment, we recently introduced the Step Up to Success Program, which subsidizes job training and continuing education as well as fees for professional licenses and certifications. 98% of families who complete our Road to Independence Program maintain long-term sustainable independence.
Please note: We are not an emergency shelter. Acceptance into our Road to Independence program requires pre-screening; it may take two to three weeks to qualify. If you or someone you know is in need of immediate help, please call 211 or our hotline at 561-265-3370 for referrals to emergency shelters.
